Norway's third-largest glacier complex, spanning approximately 207 km² across three plateau glaciers. Its highest point reaches 1,662 metres above sea level. Folgefonna National Park was established in 2005 to protect its unique alpine and coastal ecosystems. The glacier is dramatically visible from Åkrafjorden, with meltwater feeding streams and rivers that flow down to the fjord.
