Three routes for different levels
Åkrafjorden Nature offers three routes, all with different skill levels. The toughest is Kyrkjeveggen - many call this the toughest route in Norway. Meanwhile, we have family friendly routes such as Ingadalen, so everyone can experience the wonderful feeling of making it!
Kyrkjeveggen
Mostly climbing up the steep wall, but some of the most challenging areas have steps so it can be possible for people to make it. We start at 50 m.a.s.l. and the climb ends at 550 m.a.s.l. The climb itself is 900 meters long. From there you'll hike on path to the very top 713 m.a.s.l.
Classification: D
Ingadalen
A family friendly route south of Åkrafjorden Nature, where we can see the climbers from the building. A 15 minute walk to the ascent. It offers a wonderful view of Rullestad, Fjæra/Åkrafjorden and Kyrkjeveggen. It takes about 2,5 - 3 hours in a child friendly tempo, but it can be extended if you want time to take in the view and surroundings.
Classification: B/C
Hylling
A very varied climb, where you'll start at the same point as Kyrkjeveggen, but continue a forest road a bit farther. This trail is marked, and you'll face some steps and walks along the mountain shelfs. At some point you can choose between a more challenging climb or continue on the marked trail. The trail is 4,5 km long, where 1700 meters of that is bolted steps and cables.
Welcome to an unforgettable experience full of adrenaline!
